Growing up in small town Wisconsin, the dishwasher when it was introduced was considered a magic box of time saving. Sure we had some dishwashers that would produce dishes that didn’t look as though they really got more clean than when you rinsed them in the first place. But to have one that works wonders and provides sparkling clean dishes, silverware and glasses is pretty awesome.
Have you ever been emptying the clean dishes from your dishwasher and then 5 minutes later trying to load some new dirty dishes in when you are asked “why are you putting dishes in the dishwasher?” “Do you not see that the inside of the dishwasher is clean?”
Some cultures consider the use of dishwashers that of being attributed to laziness. And I have even witnessed these said dishwashers as being used for storage of tupperware and other dishes instead of what they were actually created for TO CLEAN DISHES.
Anyway, this is just one scenario that makes dad crazy.
